Associates contribute to food pantry’s growing need

NEENAH, WI (October 22, 2008) – Thanks to the giving spirit of J. J. Keller associates, the St. Joseph Food Program has received a windfall of 465 pounds of food to distribute to its growing number of clients!

Associates were encouraged to bring a non-perishable, healthy food item to their Health Risk Assessment screening this fall, and the contributions filled an entire gaylord to capacity – 20 cubic feet of donations in all.  Everything from canned soup to Hamburger Helper…all hearty items to be shared with needy people in the local community.

According to Monica Clare, Operations Manager at St. Joe’s, “Donations are down and the need is up.  There were 700 more visits to our program in September than there was a year ago and October is looking to be the same or more! The cost of what we have to purchase has increased, adding to our shortfall. We already serve 850 families a week and with the added visits we are going to have to come up with the difference somewhere.”

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the growing need at the food program.
