J. J. Keller Provides Grant for a Collaborative Family Event

Menasha, WI – Pigs in a Blanket!  This Collaborative Family Event sponsored by St. Joseph Food Program and The Community Clothes Closet is made possible because of a $10,000 grant provided by The JJ Keller Foundation!

Three hundred and fifty families have been pre-registered for this event and are current clients of the Food Program and the Community Closet. On Saturday, February 21, each family will receive one ham, plus the fixings to help make the meal go further… this includes a package of 15 bean soup mix, corn bread mix, sausage links, pancake mix syrup and recipes!  The Community Clothes Closet will be giving each child a blanket, socks, mittens and hat! “We’ve wanted to hold a ‘Warm Fuzzy’ event with St. Joe’s, since we share the same building and have many of the same clients. The grant from JJ Keller made this possible!” Said Diane Bishop, Executive Director of the Community Clothes Closet.

Monica Clare, Operations Manager at St. Joe’s noted too, “We’ve received such a generous discount from our suppliers that we’ve been able to really build on the amount of food we are giving away for this event! We are even able to add a children’s cookbook to round out the package!”
We know that St. Joe's Food Program makes the most of the money they receive.  They figure out ways to stretch our dollars, just like people on a budget at home do.  We are thrilled that this has grown from a 'pig in a blanket' to all the fixing’s to go with it!" Said Mary Harp-Jirschele, Executive Director of the JJ Keller Foundation.
